I just got the new Samsung Alias cell phone from Verizon Wireless. The phone is a slight upgrade from the existing SCH-u740 phone. The biggest upgrade is in the keypad. The Alias sports a full QWERTY keyboard, which doubles as the numeric keypad. The older SCH-u740 phone had grey buttons for the number keys which were crammed with numbers and letters. The Alias has half black and half white keys with the letters in the black portion and the numbers in the white portion. This makes the keypad much easier to use. Samsung also took note of user complaints regarding 2 small plastic screen protectors, which made hitting the P and the right softkey on the keyboard very uncomfortable. They moved the screen protectors out of the way. It’s not a big deal, but it shows that Samsung’s designers pay attention to customer complaints. I will do a full review of the phone after I’ve used it for a little while. The Alias is also silver and black instead of the plain black.
