In the end, I can't recommend that you use Magicjack as your primary phone line. I think it's best used as a very inexpensive second line or for a line for your kids or as a back up if you have cut the traditional phone cord and only have a cell phone at home. It would also be great if you travel a lot with a laptop and don't want to you your cell phone or hotel phone, especially for overseas travel. I'm sure eventually the Magicjack software will be upgraded to fix some of the annoying idiosyncrasies and they will build enough redundancy into their backbone to prevent future outages, but for $20 a year you can't really go wrong.
