Cell Phones on Planes
cell%20plane2.jpgUsing your cell phone on an airplane has taken another step closer to reality, at least for European travels with GSM phones.  Air France has started a pilot program that will let you make a call from 39,000 feet.  The privilege of using your cell phone from a plane is not going to come cheap.  It will cost almost $5 per minute.  Other European and Middle Eastern carriers are also implementing the service.  There are some technical glitches to overcome, such as a limit on the number of concurrent calls and difficulty receiving calls, but to be sure if this goes well in Europe you will see cell phones on American airlines in the near future, especially when with cash strapped airlines looking for anything to aid revenues
