Overall, I really like the Panasonic KX-WP1050. The handset, especially, is just great. Its weight, size, shape, bright display, speaker phone quality, user interface, and button responsiveness are just fantastic. One big drawback is needing the router. It would be better if the handset would just work without the special router. Some WiFi SIP phones will work on any WiFi network without needed a specific router, such as the D-Link DPH-540, which I will be reviewing shortly. It would be nice to be able to toss the handset in my pocket and use it at any WiFi hot stop. A real charging stand would be nice too. It isn't always convenient to charge the handset at a computer or at the router.

Using Skype exclusively is another shortfall for the Panasonic KX-WP1050. It would be great if the phone was unlocked and you could choose any carrier.
