Handset Clarity Booster comes on automatically when the phone detects a week signal or signal interference. You can also turn this feature on manually during a call. Using Clarity Booster will reduce battery time. I tried using Clarity Booster when I was over 150 feet from the base station and I didn’t really notice any difference in sound quality.
The KX-TG3031 also features a built in answering machine. The answering machine has 12 minutes of answering time. You can restrict the length of messages to 1, 2, or 3 minutes to keep people from taking up all of the 12 minutes.
You can retrieve your message from the remote handsets, not just the base. The handsets have a nice “new message” indicator on the display. In fact, you can take advantage of any of the answering machine’s features from the remote handsets. You can, of course, also retrieve your messages from an outside line using the answering machine’s adjustable remote code.
