Toshiba has just released software version 5.0 for it’s Strata CIX line of digital business telephone systems. Release 5.0 adds many new features to Toshiba’s Voice over Internet Protocol feature set. Toshiba has also introduced a new VoIP card, the MIPU. The MIPU features a new generation of digital signal processor for improved VoIP call quality. The MIPU also support Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) Trunking.
Release 5.0 also includes some exciting new features. One such new feature is simultaneous ringing. Simultaneous ringing allows you to have your desk phone and your cell or home phone ring at the time. You can answer the call from either phone. If you have multiple locations you can have your calls ring 2 a phone at 2 different locations simultaneously.
Simultaneous ringing is ideal for mobile sales people or traveling executives. This feature requires Toshiba’s Strategy Enterprise Server Voice Mail system running on Toshiba Media Application Server.
