If your business is moving out of your town, you have 2 choices with regards to your main telephone number. You can get a new number and have the phone company play a number changer message or you can set up remote call forwarding.
With remote call forwarding the phone company routes your callers to your new telephone number without your callers even knowing. The problem with remote call forwarding has always been the cost. Not only do you have to pay a monthly fee, but you have to pay for the cost of every call that is forwarded to you. Over time that can really add up.

After seeing the cost, they switched their remote call forward number from Verizon to Vonage and saved over $400 per month. Now, if they ever move again they will not have to worry about taking their phone number with them. A quick change at the Vonage customer portal and they can point their old phone number to any new number they want.
